Yew Tree Music
The company began in 1996 in Hampshire, UK. At the time our founder was having difficultly finding a record company to work with. They all seemed to want something else. So he decided to start his own record company and find out what life was like on the other side of the fence, Rejection City!
So Yew Tree Music was formed. Our founder had a wealth of experience working as a producer and engineer in various studios. He had written and presented a song writing course so he knew all the nuts and bolts of music but not the music business.
It turns out that the music business has very little to do with music, it is mostly about networking, travelling to MIDEM, meeting people and exchanging CD’s with distributors, hoping to clinch a deal.
All in all not a bad life if you can keep up the pace!
